Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea is an Irish comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea's career began in 2011 as a comedian after appearing in small parts on Irish and British TV series starting in the year 2009. In 2012, she began to regularly appear on sketch and sitcoms. Following her win at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, she was booked for a variety of panel programs. Between 2016 and 2017, she was a member of 8 Out of 10 Cats' team, as well as a participant of the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. She was the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister who is named Sinead. The only female to win So You Think You're Funny in the year 2012. Bea's surname is in honour of her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born April 16, 1984, in Kildare Town in County Kildare. The father of Bea was Brian was a vet for horses that committed suicide aged three. She was not aware of the cause of her death until thirteen years later. In 2017, she wrote an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and took on the stage name Bea in remembrance of him. Bea was fostered by her younger sister Sinead and her mother Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer as well as a former professional racer. Her family were passionate about horses and races. Bea was a trainer for the Irish National Stud in her young years. She knew, however that it wasn't what she wanted to do in a career and she preferred doing.
